Before Using SolidWorks it is Recommended that you Change the Icons Color Select Tools/Options/Document Properties/Colors Under Icon color, change the option from Default to Classic To change Icons as shown below: Lecturers please note that SolidWorks 2016 defaults to no color on Icons. Since most of the Icons have not significantly changed, the majority of the PowerPoint slides have not been changed. The left hand side of your SolidWorks menu is known as the Model Tree SolidWorks Model Tree Note that these items can be hidden by using “Cleaning up the Model Tree Display “ found in the “SolidWorks_Settings_and_Helpful_Hints” document. SolidWorks Model Tree The Model Tree keeps track of the model creation by showing the sketches or features used in order from top to bottom Notice that the sketches are no longer shown once used for a feature but can be accessed by clicking the plus sign next to that feature The model tree shows the creation of the part from top to bottom.
