Engineering 1182 Helpful Hints – Lost Quick Access Toolbar 7 Click to return to TOC 1 1.Select View 2 2.Then Select Workspace 3 3.Finally Click on Default

Engineering 1182 Helpful Hints – Correcting AEV Parts Changing Size 8 Click to return to TOC

Engineering 1182 9 Helpful Hints – Changing Part Orientation Sometimes you need to re-orient your part so that the CHARACTERISTIC view will be the FRONT View when the part is extracted to a SolidWorks Drawing. Select CTRL + 7 keys to orient object into ISO View and select the FRONT face(dark blue) Select CTRL + 1 keys to orient the object to “Normal To” the current FRONT view Right click on the blue selected face and under Zoom/Pan/Rotate select View Orientation Then under Orientation select Left to cause the current FRONT view to be re- assigned to the LEFT View. Then select Update Standard Views at the top of the dialog box and click on YES Select CTRL + 7 keys to orient the object to it’s newly assigned FRONT and ISO View Click to return to TOC

Engineering 1182 Helpful Hints - Changing Units Specifications (inch/meter) 10 1-Under Tools, select Options Under Options select Document Properties and then click on Units Click on appropriate Units specification and then select OK Note: Units specifications can be changed for both parts or drawings and should be done prior to sizing an object or applying dimensions to a drawing Click to return to TOC

Engineering 1182 Helpful Hints – Changing Display Style (shaded/hidden lines visible/etc.) 11 Drag to reposition Right click on Isometric and select another style or Click to return to TOC

Engineering 1182 Helpful Hints – Changing the Display Scale 12 Sometimes it is helpful to change the scale of the Isometric and add the appropriate note. More space for Ortho drawings and dimensioning NOTE: All views can be dragged to reposition and some views are locked to other views Click to return to TOC
