USSF Player Development Initiatives

Not yet for us!

Guidance on Heading As result of the “Mehr” soccer concussion lawsuit, (brought against USSF, US Youth Soccer, AYSO, US Club Soccer and CYSA), new rules expected from USSF governing heading the soccer ball in youth soccer. For Core AYSO, no heading in U12 games and below, limited practice for children 11-13. For EXTRA/Select, no heading U11 Select and below and U12 EXTRA. Limited practice for older age groups. Also expect new rules governing substitutions for safety.

For Discussion Team Snap Uniforms Fire Outings 5/28 (and 5/30 for some) High school meeting Fundraising Sponsorship Tryouts for next fall: late May All U10+ Players will be assessed Also current U7: Expect to expand U8 EXTRA to full year program

For more info, see: www.changingthegameproject.com Why Sports Matter From Changing the Game Project Sports can teach values (Sports do not teach character and values, unless they are intentionally taught by coaches!) Sports will help a child live a longer, healthier life Sports teach courage, resilience and grit Sports give a voice to the voiceless (building confidence, personal responsibility, safe space, gender equity among some of the most vulnerable) For more info, see: www.changingthegameproject.com
