8. “U12 NO HEADING RULE: HEADING THE BALL“
US Soccer and AYSO
Heading is banned for U11 players & below for both practices and games.
An indirect free kick will be awarded to the opposing team that deliberately touches the ball with his/her head during a game.
An indirect free kick awarded to the attacking team inside the penalty area will be placed outside the penalty area.
Just introduce the new change in “no heading the ball in U12. Mention briefly that this is coming down from US Soccer and National AYSO. Total slide should take no more than 2 minutes. Don’t teach the rule just briefly explain as a heads up.
