Expressing regret and describing hypothetical situations.

To talk about regrets or speculate about things that happened or didn´t happen we use... should have Verb in past particple Complement subject shouldn´t have Situation: I didn´t work hard I should´ve worked hard. She lost lots of time. She shouldn´t have lost time. I didn´t go to the party. I should´ve gone to the party. I spent all my money. I shouldn´t have spent all my money.

To describe hypothetical situations in the past... Aux had Verb Past participle would have could have verb past participle if sub sub I study more If I had studied more , I get a better job I could have gotten a better job. If they hadn´t met, They not meet they couldn´t have gotten married. They not get married

The clauses can be in different order... If he hadn´t drunk, he wouldn´t have crashed. He wouldn´t have crashed if he hadn´t drunk.
