Main results during reporting period (1) Statistical processes: IT applications for agricultural surveys installed and functioning in all Territorial Statistical Offices (TSOs) of NBS; Detailed study of HR and workload distribution in Territorial Statistical Offices as input to re-organisation process; Launching the Intranet as a communication tool within HQ and TSOs of NBS; Capacity building programme for statistical producers Statistical products: Regional GDP and GVA by industries disseminated Launch of WG on Geographical Information for Statistics Pilot survey on agricultural production

Component 1 - Identification of purposes for regional statistics 1.1.1-1.1.6 Sectoral assessments: Identification of current production of regional statistics 1.1.7: Catalogue of regional statistics 1.2.1-1.2.2: Assessment of EU requirements, OECD recommendations, national regulations for production and use of regional stats; 1.3.1: Initial assessment of demand 1.3.2-1.3.5: Facilitate consultations between NBS and key regional statistics users (Workshops and user surveys) 1.4.1-1.4.2: Study visits to Slovakia and Lithuania on the production of regional statistics; Initial training on regional statistics and regional accounts.

Component 3 – Modified activities (to be approved by SC) Add: 3.7 Improvement of regional demographic statistics based on finalised PHC data Data from the PHC have been validated in December 2016 and now it is posible to work on regional demographic statistics

Component 4 - Development of systems and procedures to use regional statistics for regional development planning and M&E purposes 4.1.1: Improved M&E system for regional development 4.1.2-4.1.3: Assist RDAs in performing M&E of regional development policy based on the newly available statistics 4.2.1-4.2.4: Improve users’ capacity in accessing and using indicators for regional development policies 4.3.1-4.3.4: Improved dissemination of regional statistics and indicators; 4.3.5: Improved communication with Territorial Statistical Offices (Intranet) 4.4.1:Improved capacity for producers of regional statistics. 4.4.2: Training on statistical project management 4.4.3: Other training for statistics producers
