Education and Experience ■ Graduated from NPHS in 1991. ■ 15 years of teaching experience and I love teaching!!!! - 5 years in LAUSD - 10th year in CVUSD at NPHS ■ Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences from UCSB. ■ Teaching Credential from CSUN and continuing education from National University. ■ Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from CSUN.

Typical Day ■ Answer a few homework questions and collect homework. ■ Learn a new lesson. - 1 section a day - Power Point Presentation - Examples ■ Start homework. ■ We will use the school computer labs for some activities and projects.

Curriculum ■ Quarter 1: Chapters 1-5 - The Stock Market - Modeling a Business - Banking Services - Consumer Credit - Automobile Ownership ■ Quarter 2: Chapters 6-10 - Employment Basics - Income Taxes - Independent Living - Planning for Retirement - Prepare a Budget

Grading Policies ■ Weighted Grade - See course description posted on course website. - Not a total points system. - 15% Class Notes, Classwork, and Homework 15% Projects, 20% Quizzes, 50% Tests ■ Grades posted in class. ■ Grades posted in Q. http://q.conejousd.org/

Projects and Technology Approximately 1 activity and 1 project using Word, Excel, and Power Point per chapter. Scientific Calculators: Strongly Recommended. I have a class set of 20. Graphing Calculators: Not needed. I have a class set of 30. Desmos.com is a free online graphing calculator.

Homework ■ Mostly assigned from the textbook. ■ Posted daily on course website by 5 p.m., if not earlier. ■ Class notes are also posted daily on course website by 5 p.m., if not earlier.

Make Up Policy ■ Students are allowed one day for each day of excused absence to make up work missed. ■ Make up tests will be given during class. ■ Late work will be accepted until the day of the chapter test and will receive half credit.

Extra Help - M, W, F 11:45-12:15 ■ Extra help from Mr. Mulligan ■ Posted on course website.
