Fun Facts: James M. Bennett High School The New school is approx. 228,000 sf (excluding the Auditorium) . That’s almost 5.5 acres. Final Capacity will be 1496 FTE 600 geothermal wells at 240’ deep = 75 Miles of Geo-Thermal Piping . Almost 275 miles of electrical wiring was used. ( about the distance to JFK Airport) 1000 tons of Steel (2,000,000 lbs) 100,000 cubic feet of concrete was used in the building? 440 Doors are in the project 27,000 sq.ft. of Glass ( about 3.25 acres) CO2 Reduction: 430,709 lbs
