Learning Together CEPN Covering Brighton, Hove, High Wealds, Haven and Lewes

Our Mission The long-term vision for our CEPN, is to facilitate those involved in out of hospital care to develop collaborative new ways of working in the delivery of multi-professional education and training. David to deliver a general introduction, present the mission/ vision and to perhaps ask Have heard of the CEPN? Attended from training organised by your Primary Care Workforce Tutors and GP Tutors….

What Exactly is a CEPN? Community Education Provider Network There are approximately 122 across the UK Multi professional, multi-provider approach to improve education, training, retention and recruitment where formal structures do no exist Multi – professional network, GP Tutors, Community Trust, GP Federations etc…. Tara to provide a national and local examples

The future is uncertain but do know one thing…… We cannot continue as we are. Consequences of NOT having a CEPN Advantages for having a CEPN To increase recruitment To aid retention To develop new ways of working To shape the future To increase the quality of care for our patients, families and friends Increased collaborative working Failure to recruit, attract, sustain and develop the local workforce Risk vertical & hierarchical models of care such as Secondary Care taking over The workforce challenges will be exacerbated Tara to deliver 4

We need you. In order for this not to be another failed project. We need you. We need your active engagement, positive support, We us all you to work together. General practices together and also alongside our community colleagues

What are we doing? Over the last year: Student Nurse placements – 22 students nurses in Brighton and Hove Management placements for 3rd Year Student nurses Return to Practice Nurse Placements Health Care Assistant Pathway – Apprenticeships level 2 , 3 and 4 6 Practice Nurses on Advanced Practice course- 2 more to commence in September Close working with Brighton University and Medical school Nurses invited to GP refresher courses Skills training for new practice nurses 3rd year student nurses requesting jobs in Brighton and Hove primary care, when they qualify Helen to provide
