The Urinary System Advanced Health

What is the urinary system? Also known as the renal system- produces, stores and eliminates urine, the fluid waste excreted by the kidneys.

The urinary tract is a pathway that includes… Kidneys: Two bean-shaped organs that filter waste from the blood and produce urine Ureters: Two thin tubes that take urine from the kidney to the bladder Bladder: A hollow, muscular organ that holds urine Urethra: The tube that carries urine from the bladder out of the body when you urinate

How does the urinary system work? The urinary system works with the lungs, skin and intestines to maintain the balance of chemicals and water in the body. The kidneys make urine by filtering wastes and extra water from blood. Urine travels from the kidneys through two thin tubes called ureters and fills the bladder. When the bladder is full, a person urinates through the urethra to eliminate the waste.

Renal and Urinary Disorders- Google Search each to get the definition 1. Renal calculi 2. Neurogenic Bladder 3. Urethritis 4. Cystitis 5. Nephritis 6. Acute Renal Failure 7. Chronic Renal Failure (including the stages) 8. Incontinence 9. Pyelonephritis (acute and chronic)
