1 Kidneys, Ureters, Urinary Bladder, Urethra, and Lungs
The Excretory System Kidneys, Ureters, Urinary Bladder, Urethra, and Lungs

2 Lungs Remove excess Carbon Dioxide from the blood by exhaling
Also removes water vapor Breathing maintains homeostasis Keeps Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide in balance

3 Skin Sweat glands release excess water and salts
Cools body to maintain internal temperature

4 Kidneys Remove wastes from blood Regulate water in blood
Maintain pH of blood

5 Kidneys Filtration Reabsorbtion Excretion

6 Kidneys Made up of Nephrons Individual filtering unit

7 Filtration Blood enters Kidney through Renal Artery
Blood travels into capillaries in the nephron Salts, water, glucose, amino acids and waste diffuse out of the capillaries Blood cells stay in the capillaries

8 Reabsorbtion Materials the body needs are reabsorbed into the blood stream Glucose, amino acids, vitamins, water Water is reabsorbed based on the needs of the body

9 Excretion Liquid and wastes not reabsorbed form urine
The urinary system eliminates wastes and water from the body

10 Urinary System Made up of the kidneys, ureter, urinary bladder, and urethra. Urine travels from Kidneys to the Urinary Bladder through the ureters. Urine passes out of the Urinary Bladder through the Urethra and out of the body.

11 Urinary System
