Thinking critically and creatively By: Ms.Ramirez & Mr.Kim

Introduction Individual person has their own different way of solving problem through thinking, but to go above and beyond there are two ways of thinking such as: Critical Thinking Creatively Thinking

Critical thinking Well critical thinking is about what has been done and what will be done. Ask questions and answer them as you go. Critical thinkers take the ideas and find a deeper meaning to them, they then decide what they want to do or what they want to believe. Within critical thinking there is mindfulness and open-mindedness.

Mindfulness Being mindfulness means being aware and mentally being present for one’s everyday activities of life. Mindful people tend to engaged with their environment, responding to things in a thoughtful way to different experiences. Ex. taking action, being aware, and being non-judgemental

Open-mindedness Being receptive to other ways of looking at things. Don’t believe anything in the book even though there is an answer. You have to compare & contrast and make it into your own perspective.

Creative thinking Ability to think about something in unusual way to solutions to problem.

Divergent thinking Thinking that produces many solutions to the same problem.

Convergent thinking Convergent thinkers one solution that is best for a problem. This type of thinking is the way to go when a problem only has one answer.

Ramirez point of view My understanding is that thinking critically and creatively come hand in hand. To think critically you have to have deep thoughts and think creatively which could be outside the box thoughts. Not only that but you can dig deeper and find which exact ways you think within critical thinking which could mindfulness or open-minded. And creatively which could divergent or convergent. I for one believe that I am mindfulness and convergent thinker.

Kim point of view Being critical and creative thinker is a gift. Because there aren’t many people think deeply or has the same thinking as me. It helps me think deeply to find the meaning of everyday life. It’s important to understand something beyond the textbook.
