Key Objectives Enhance Pupil Safeguarding (school access was not adequately controlled, exposing pupils to risk) Provide more efficient front of school facilities (visitor, head teacher, bursar, admin and medical facilities).

Scheme Development The scheme is designed to: Meet government guidelines. Meet the working requirements of the Head Teacher and support staff as determined from a ‘needs definition’ exercise. Improve the medical room. Deliver the needs at minimum cost.

Outline office layout Layout offers: More open, efficient and comfortable working environment. Improved team working Hot desks for teaching staff, which liberates the staff room for relaxation. Improved surveillance of medical area, Direct access from medical area to toilet / washroom.

Temporary Arrangements The temporary access arrangements are being finalised and all parents will be advised of them before the start of the works. The vehicle access will remain, but will also be used by the contractor. The visitor entrance will be via the door adjacent to the kitchen. The current offices will be relocated. The construction site will be fully secured and a risk assessment conducted to ensure the pupils and staff are kept safe throughout the works.
