2 Timelines To Project Completion The timelines shared are proposed to date and may change slightly as the project unfolds: April 9, 10:00 am - PLRD meeting with project architects. April 15, 7:00 pm - Community meeting for the sharing of priorities and feedback to support the process of the Building Committee. April 22 to April 27 - selection of Architectural team. May 2 - Meeting of building committee to consolidate all community, staff, and student input. June 2014 - Sharing of the schematic design of the architectural team with the community of Hanna.

3 Project Timelines continued July 2014/August 2014 - Design Development. August 2014/November 2014 - Construction Documents Completion. November 2014 - Tendering and Award. December 2014 - Award Contract to successful Contractor.

4 Project Timelines continued January 2015 to June 2016 - Construction. September 2016 to September 2017 - Post Construction. (Hvac balancing/addressing deficiencies) September 2016 to December 2016 - Full occupancy (Will depend upon actual project completion.) June 2016 to September 2016 - Demolition of Hanna Primary School. (Flexible as per above)

5 Architectural Visit June 2014 - Sharing of the schematic design of the architectural team with the community of Hanna: Community meeting involving parents, staff, and students Meeting with the building committee

6 School Observations/Community Input: Big Concepts Create a safe, comfortable, welcoming learning environment (Furniture; spacious areas; natural lighting) Provide age-appropriate, properly located playground, washroom, eating, and learning spaces; Provide common gathering spaces for collaboration and multi-age learning;

7 Big Ideas Continued Provide podded learning spaces with flexibility between classrooms and the podded areas; Include adequate computer access points, group and individual work and collaborative spaces, eating and washroom facilities; library function, and teacher collaboration and work spaces within each pod; Ensure adequate classroom space for learning with proper consideration for grade-level differences; Provide adequate storage facilities in classrooms and throughout the facility for various work functions;

8 Big Ideas continued Provide adequate room and space for traffic flow and locker access; Provide specialty learning spaces for fine arts, drama, music, food studies and food services, and for additional CTS and dual credit programs; and high performance fitness facilities Ensure the facility is state-of-the-art with integrated technologies that make sense for learning;

9 Big Ideas continued Ensure proper flow for and safety for traffic, pick up, drop off, parking, and walking; Provide adequate bulletin boards inside and outside of classrooms; Utilize modernized techniques for making good use of space: Bulletin Boards and white Boards that double as blinds; Strategically located administrative areas with student work spaces;

10 Big Ideas continued Provide adequate spaces for contracted services, FRW, REACH, special education, and other service providers; Provide hot lunch service preparation facilities for primary parents; Provide adequate daily physical activity and gym spaces for the school programs K-12; and, Separate boot rooms.
