Eurostat main tables and graphs Nordic webseminar, Stockholm, 16.-17. February 2010

The contents of the Eurostat tables The tables in the database are presented according to the grouping of topics used in Official Statistics of Finland (OSF) At the moment all tables are in English, but translating the titles of the tables to Finnish is under consideration Eurostat has added new tables to the predifined table set almost weekly The automatic script downloads new tables as they are added to the ES service

Downloading the data SF has made a script to automatically download the ES tables ES home > Statistics > Bulk download > Bulk download facility (>) Bulk download area contains both predefined and database tables All tables are downloaded but only predefined tables are used to create px-tables and PX-Web database Data and all metadata are stored in different files: data files, dictionary files and table of contents table of contents -> contents of the data files -> dictionary files -> PC-Axis files The tables are downloaded from the ES site as they are System consists of three scripts a python script of 550 rows parses data and metadata into valid px-files the file containing the python code: eurostat_pdt.py Markku Huttunen 16.2.2010 3
