Strong need to compare national data with data from abroad Paper publications focused on international data – e.g. CESTAT/CANSTAT or special parts of CZSO publications (Statistical Yearbook, Quarterly Bulletin, Focused on Women and Men etc.) Electronic publications – e.g. EU after enlargement

3 „XML“ tables Sharing of tables considered as an excellent idea
Possibility to make European statistics accessible in national language Starting date of pilot version: May 3, 2006 Provisional version – based on tough processing in Excel → inconvenient Creation of special software made-to-measure of XML tables

4 Processing procedure of new table
Teamwork – 4 phases: administrator → choosing the table, specification of translator, specialist and deadlines translator (ESDS team member) → translation of title, subtitles and description relevant specialist (production unit member - PUM) → checking of translation administrator → checking → publication on website

5 In all phases automatic e-mails are being generated:
administrator → translator translator → production unit member production unit member → administrator user administrator → server administrator Whole procedure – about 3 weeks

29 Technical description
Two parts: Saving Eurostat data and their translation (Czech equivalents already saved in database) Created in Java, version 1.5 Using libraries java.net → downloading data in XML format → library org.xml.sax → translating + transforming into static HTML files HTML files → stored using FTP transfer into web server directory → presentation on website (storage of data → database Oracle 10g) Serves for the actual translation of texts Created in PLSQL store procedure of Oracle 10g
