4. Sharing the data - background
Demand from the users for presenting Sweden in the European context
Our website offers structured access to predefined tables and graphs and statistics on regional level but we lack systematic approach on international level
We use a program for fetching and converting very simple xml-files for our predefined tables and graphs
Some trials before on presenting international data but the statistics was not updated regularly

5. Sharing the data with Eurostat
An easy procedure for presenting international data in addition to the Swedish data?
XML file can be fetched by a download/extraction program (soon SDMX files)
The table will be shown in the style of our Internet presentation
Eurostat is responsible for updating the data and SCB is responsible for fetching and presenting the data
The news from Eurostat will be offered in EN, DE and FR

6. Keywords system - background
Users prefer searching by free keywords but statistics often desires some specific terminology
Today an A-Z list of free keywords. Need of controlled vocabulary as well
Keywords will be entered into the publishing database - primary cataloguing of our publications
In 2006 a project on a better search engine for the website, the statistical databases and the methodological information

7. Common keywords system – advantages for SCB
Getting a list of keywords extracted from a thesaurus and translated to Swedish
Gathering information on usage of controlled vocabulary on the website by participating in the pilot project
Gathering information on advantages and disadvantages of using one keywords list between different countries – translated to our reality – one keywords list between different governmental organisations
