Halloween

All Hallow’s Eve Halloween, which used to be called All Hallow’s Eve, is celebrated on the 31st of October

Colors Halloween decorations are usually Black- for dark nights and death, Orange- for the autumn vegetables

Jack O’Lanterns People believed that bad spirits like ghosts came in the winter, so on All Hallow’s Eve, they made jack o’lantern’s. People carve a scary face and place a candle into a pumpkin to scare away the bad spirits.

Costumes Another thing people did to make the bad spirits go away was dress up like witches and ghosts.

Costumes Today, people still dress up for Halloween. People wear costumes that are scary, funny, cute, creative, etc…

Bobbing For Apples At Halloween parties, some people like to play bobbing for apples. To play, someone puts apples and water into a bowl. The player covers their eyes and puts their hands behind their back. They use their mouth to pick up an apple from the water.

Trick or Treat Children in the USA go trick or treating in their neighborhoods. They get dressed up in costumes and walk from house to house collecting candy from their neighbors in a bag, bucket or pillowcase.

How do YOU celebrate Halloween?
