CJLU is the only university affiliated with AQSIQ and has close relationship with SAC Founded in 1978. The university has formed its unique feature of fostering high quality talents with firm quality notions, a distinct sense of standards and a strong ability in metrology CJLU faculties have been actively participating in standards education activities worldwide. CJLU VP and Prof. SONG, Mingshun received the first ISO Award for Higher Education in Standardization on behalf of the China Jiliang University in 2007. (http://www.iso.org/iso/home/news_index/news_archive/news.htm?refid=R ef1077) Prof. Song has also served as chair of International Cooperation for Education about Standardization (ICES) in 2012

Background of College of Standardization In March 2008, the College of Standardization (CS) was established. The major of Standardization Engineering started its enrollment from 2011. 20 full-time teachers from 15 key university in China CS currently has a 4-year undergraduate education curriculum, with 468 students enrolled in 2016. They go thru 2-year training of Standardization Engineering major and another 2-year for technology curriculum of one major direction (Agriculture Standardization, Industry Standardization, or Service Standardization) The goal is to cultivate “standardization practitioners”, who are qualified to engage in standard revision and standardization management work, to engage in the education and training of standardization after graduation in the third party organization for standardization, all types of enterprises, institutions, government and organizations. CS’ Standardization Engineering Experiment Teaching Center provides simulation through the virtual simulation technology CS hosts annual “Standardization Cup” CJLU organizes routine joint training workshops with ISO and ATSM for students and faculty.

IEEE-SA Confidential Document Previous Engagement CJLU faculty attended IEEE-CNIS standards education workshop in Beijing in both 2011 and 2012 and actively participated in the panel discussion Walter Sun visited CJLU in Oct and met with the leadership of CJLU’s Standardization School. IEEE-SA staff and volunteer provided an IEEE Standards Development Process and Standards Education workshop on Nov 25 at CJLU. Over 50 students attended. Good response and questions from attendees Strong interests from faculty and students in experimenting the IEEE Standards Development Simulation IEEE-SA Confidential Document

Potential collaboration with CJLU IEEE and CJLU sign an MOU to officially establish a collaborative relationship SEC invites CJLU to join SEC, which will add new perspective and thoughts from China on standards education practices IEEE-SA hosts IEEE Standards Workshop for CJLU students annually to train about IEEE standards development process. IEEE and CJLU host workshops / seminars on other topics related to standards education SEC encourages CJLU to submit applications for Student paper Grants. SEC encourages CJLU to contribute to e-Zine. SEC works with CJLU and explore opportunity to localize IEEE standards simulation into China IEEE-SA Confidential Document
