Limbrick News Date: 10th February 2017 Latest news: You may have noticed that we have had a couple of visits from West Midlands Police this week. We are pleased that they are starting to patrol our area again, as they were doing a couple of years ago. It is good news for our community. This is so important for their learning and achievement in all subjects. Thank you to all our parents and carers who are listening to their children read every night. We would like to encourage all our parents to do this with their children. It makes such a difference and helps them to discover a life long love of books. Benefit Cap Drop In and Advice Session – Monday 13th February from 2pm to 4pm. We are really fortunate to be provided with this chance to find out more about the forthcoming changes - please take advantage of this service. Reminder about suitable clothing for extremely cold weather: Please send your children into school in warm coats, hats and gloves so that they are kept warm to and from school and especially during playtimes. Reminder: Tennis will be cancelled on Monday 13th February. Sainsburys Active Kids We will be collecting Active Kids vouchers again this year. Please ask everyone to save them for us so that we are able to order lots of exciting equipment for our children. The vouchers are available until 2nd May. Please give them to your child’s class teacher or give them to your child to post in the box by the school office. Shove Tuesday – Pancake Day We will be having pancakes for pudding on Shrove Tuesday, Tuesday 28th February. If your child normally has a packed lunch, but you’d like them to have a school dinner that day, please order a meal via the school office. It will be free for KS1 and £2.10 in KS2.

New Faces: None this week This weeks letters: Nursery – Contributions Costs: Dinner money: £2.10 per day £10.50 per week School Uniform: School Coats - £16.00 Fleeces - £13.50 Sweatshirts – £8.00 / £9.50 (depending on size) Book bags – £4.00 Pump bags – £4.00 Breakfast Club: £ 2.00 Per day After School Club: £ 5.50 Per day 100% Attendance and Punctuality: Our Year 4 class achieved 97.5% attendance this week, this was a good achievement. Hopefully I will be able to report that one of our classes has achieved 100% attendance next week. There were 58 lates this week which affected 6 classes. Please ensure your children arrive at school on time. The bell goes at 8.55am. Children need to arrive at school between 8.45am and 8.55am, in order to undertake early morning work. Therefore we will continue to record poor punctuality. If children arrive after 8.55am, they will be recorded in the late book and their parents/carers will be asked to sign the late book and record the reason why. Mrs Devine will be closely monitoring children who are continuously late for school, offering support to those families who need it. If children are regularly late for school, then I will also ask parents/carers to attend a meeting with myself and the Children and Family First Team to address this issue more formally.
