Nursery and Reception Open Morning for September 2017 places We will be holding an open morning for new parents and carers and their children who are interested in applying for a place in our Nursery or Reception class next September. It will be held on Friday 25th November between 10.00am and 11.00am. Please let your friends and relatives know. Darker evenings: As the clocks went back last Sunday, all children who attend sports and outdoor club will need to be collected by an adult. Poppy Appeal Sarah and Ana will be continuing to sell poppies and a range of items such as wristbands and reflectors next week for the Royal British Legion. REMINDER - Forms for trips: Forms must be completed and returned to school in advance of school trips. This is inline with the Educational Visits policy and for insurance and medical purposes. Parent/teacher conversations: If you need to talk to your child’s class teacher, can I ask that this happens at the end of the school day. However any urgent messages can be given to the adults on the playground nearest to your classroom. Breakfast & After school Club If you require a place in either breakfast or after school club, please book it well in advance. Due to a very high take up there are only a few places available. As we are approaching the colder weather, please ensure your child wears their school sweatshirt and/or fleece, as some children are starting to feel a bit chilly. Also, please label your child’s coat. Can I ask that all conversations between parents on the playground are appropriate for children's ears. As adults it is important that adult topics are discussed away from children. Thank you Thank you for your donations on non uniform day last Monday. The amount raised for our School Fund was £64.95. Reminder - Paying money to school: Can I ask that when you are paying money to school that you send the money in a clearly named envelope for your child to hand to the class teacher. It is preferable that you send the correct money, however if you require change this will be returned to you via your child as soon as possible. New Faces: None this week This weeks letters: Y2 trip to Warwick Arts Centre Y6 trip to Coventry Cathedral After School Club activities for current half term Costs: Dinner money: £2.10 per day £10.50 per week School Uniform: School Coats - £16.00 Fleeces - £13.50 Sweatshirts – £8.00 / £9.50 (depending on size) Book bags – £4.00 Pump bags – £4.00 Breakfast Club: £ 2.00 Per day After School Club: £ 5.50 Per day 100% Attendance and Punctuality: Year 2 had the highest attendance this week at 99.2%. There were 23 lates this week which affected 4 classes. Please ensure your children arrive at school on time. The bell goes at 8.55am. We are always looking to increase this further, ensuring children are in school every day in order to maximize their learning time and achieve their very best. I will continue to focus on improving punctuality this academic year, as children arriving late not only affects their own learning but also disrupts the rest of their class. Children need to arrive at school between 8.45am and 8.55am, in order to undertake early morning work. Therefore we will continue to record poor punctuality. If children arrive after 8.55am, they will be recorded in the late book and their parents/carers will be asked to sign the late book and record the reason why. Mrs Devine will be closely monitoring children who are continuously late for school, offering support to those families who need it. If children are regularly late for school, then I will also ask parents/carers to attend a meeting with myself and the Children and Family First Team to address this issue more formally.
