Presentation transcript:

Term 2 2016 In Maths we will be looking at the relationship between multiplication and division and use this understanding to derive facts and solve problems. We will look at both mental methods and written methods. In History and Geography, we will identify where Egypt is and what it was like. We will explore why the River Nile was so important to the Ancient Egyptians and find out about the Pharoahs and Egyptian gods. In English we will write instructions on how to mummify a body! Inspired by Howard Carter’s discovery of Tutenkhamen, will then move on to writing a diary entry for an archaeologist discovering a new Egyptian tomb. Finally we will read a book called Egyptian Cinderella and write our own stories. In Science we will explore the properties of solids, liquids and gases. As we approach Christmas, in RE we will be identifying what is the most significant part of the Nativity story for Christians today. In Art / DT, we will make canopic jars (the jars that were used in ancient Egyptian burials). In PSHE, the focus of learning is on staying safe when children are out and about and how we can get on with each other and solve problems if we fall out. Key dates for Year 4: Home learning projects in by Thursday 8th December. Home learning exhibition 2.30pm on Monday 12th December.
