A Lesson Plan of Desuggestopedia 2014 Fall Semester- Lesson 5

Step One Make a brief introduction of Desuggestopedia with a PPT (20 minutes) Explain to the classmates (5 minutes) 1. Explain the new experience in language learning in this Desuggestopedia classroom. 2. Introduce the activities you bring to class today 3. Introduce the text for today. 4. Introduce the music you want to play today. 5. Introduce the instruments or props you want to use. 6. Introduce the posters you put on the wall.

Step Two Activity 1: The teacher tries to explain and do the first activity with the students. (10 minutes) During the activity, you have to 1. let students pick a new English names (new identity) and occupations 2. greet the students using their new names and ask them yes/no question in English about their occupations.

Step Three Activity 2: The teacher tries to explain and do the second activity with the students. (10 minutes) During the activity, you have to 1. introduce the text you want your students to learn today. 2. partly in Chinese, partly in English and partly through pantomime to outline the story of the text. 3. Play some music when you are teaching the text.

Step Four Activity 3: The teacher tries to explain and do the third activity with the students. (5 minutes) During the activity, you have to 1. teach the text again with different background music. 2. ask students not to look at the text but just listen to your reading.

Step Five Activity 4 : The teacher tries to explain and do the fourth activity with the students. (10 minutes) During the activity, you have to 1. invite students to take turns to play the roles of the characters in the text. 2. invite students to wear the props you prepare and play different roles to read aloud different sections of the text.

Step Six Activity 5: The teacher tries to explain and do the fifth activity with the students. (10 minutes) During the activity, you have to 1. invite students to play the game of alphabet song with English names and occupations. 2. design an tool to make students take turns to play the game. 3. End of the class!
