The Objects of the Unit 1.To know some words and phrases about animals. 2.To know how to write an English letter. 3.To be familiar with the sentence patterns. 4.To know “Indirect Questions” and “nominal relative clauses”. 5. To talk about personal experience in easy English.

2 The Objects of Behavior 1. To spell the new words correctly. 2. To be able to use “Indirect Questions” and “nominal relative clauses”. 3. To be able to use the new sentence patterns. 4. To be able to make sentences by using new words & sentence patterns. 5. To participate in the classroom activities happily. 6. To communicate with others well and esteem others. 3 Teacher’s ActivitiesStudent’s Activities Time The Teaching Procedures I. Preparatory Activities (Before Class) : 1. Explain teaching objectives to students. 2. Explain the teaching approach of “Cooperative Learning” to students. 3. Divide students into six heterogeneous groups according to their first semester grades and student numbers; each group will include two high achiever, two medium achievers,,and two low achievers. 4. Prepare the teaching aids (groups). I. Preparatory Activities (Before Class) : 1. Each group chooses a group leader. 2. The leader distributes the group work to each member according to each part of the content of Lesson One. (Dialogue, Reading, Practice, and Structure) 3. The group work of each part includes: (a) explaining the new words and phrases (b) explaining the sentence patterns (c) explaining the sentences of each part in detail (d) make a conclusion 4. Each student prepares his own part in advance.

4 The Teaching Procedures II. Development Activities : The teacher goes around the classroom, being a time keeper in class. First Class : Dialogue(1) (1) The teacher must be sure that each group is going on well. If not, the teacher must direct them. (2) Though the teacher does not teach the content of the material, but he can answer the questions which students ask. (The teacher responds.) II. Development Activities : Students sit as a team, with their desks pulled together. First Class : Dialogue(1) (1) Each member in a group must teach his own part to the others. (2) The presentation can be various. (3) When one teaches his own part, the others listen and ask questions. Each group picks out the difficulties and seeks for help from their members and the teacher. (The groups respond.) Second Class : Dialogue(2) Third Class : Reading (1) Fourth Class : Reading(2) Fifth Class : Practice Sixth Class : Structure(1) Seventh Class: Structure(2) Eighth Class: Review (1) The teacher asks every group to present what they learned to the whole class. (2) Every group is allotted a part of Dialogue or Reading. Ninth Class: The teacher gives students the achievement test of Lesson One. II. Development Activities : Students sit as a team, with their desks pulled together. Second Class : Dialogue(2) Third Class : Reading (1) Fourth Class : Reading (2) Fifth Class : Practice Sixth Class :Structure (1) Seventh Class: Structure(2) Eight Class: Review (1) Every group is asked to share what they learned in an allotted part with the class. (2) Each group has 7 minutes. (3) Every student review the lesson through others’ sharing. Ninth Class: Students take the individual achievement test of Lesson One. Students are not allowed to help each other while taking the test. 45’
