The texts that we study: Examination overview: English Language: Paper 1- Explorations in Creative Writing and Reading Section A: Reading one literature fiction text Section B: Writing descriptive or narrative writing 1 hour 45 minutes 80 marks Paper 2- Writers’ viewpoints and perspectives one non-fiction text and one literary non-fiction text writing to present a viewpoint 50% of GCSE English Literature: Paper 1- Shakespeare and 19th Century novel- Macbeth and A Christmas Carol/ Sign of Four 64 marks 40% of GCSE Paper 2- Modern Text and Poetry- An Inspector Calls and Power and Conflict Cluster of poems 2 hour 15 minutes 96 marks 60% of GCSE The texts that we study: English Literature Macbeth A Christmas Carol- sets 1-3 Sign of Four- sets 4 and 5 An Inspector Calls Power and Conflict Poetry Key Dates: English Literature: Shakespeare & ACC or Sign of Four ( 1hr45) 22nd May 2017- AM English Literature- AIC and Poetry- 2h15m 26th May 2017 AM English Language- Paper 1- Explorations in Creative Reading and Writing- 1hr 45 mins- 06th June 2017 AM Paper 2- Writers’ viewpoints and perspectives- 1hr 45 mins- 12th June 2017 AM Speaking and Listening Assessment- Week commencing Mon 7th November 2016.

What are the changes?

To be completed by class teachers week commencing Monday 5th December 2016. Pupils should be thinking about a topic and preparing. A project will be given to pupils over October Half Term in preparation.
