STAR S: During my course I was part of a team of 5 researching the effectiveness of the catering outlets at QMUL. T: We needed to gather sales data, service hours, supplier costs and analyse this information to find business improvements. A: We divided up the outlets - I contacted one of the the catering managers clearly explaining the project and allaying any fears. From this I was able to obtain sales figures which I analysed using Excel and so on R: The outcome was a report which provided a comparative analysis and recommendations. Each team member wrote a section and I edited the final piece for house style. The recommendations were used by the management team
