Probably talking to 2 camps of people:
Don’t know what you want to do after graduation: what job? Whether to do a masters?
Do know what you want to do and need info about where to find vacancies, when to apply and maybe support with getting a strong job/masters application sent out
Spend a few minutes talking to each group of people. First want to allay fears that it’s impossible to get a job in the current climate. In 2014/15, 93% of UK Geography grads were in employment 6 months after graduation – so the job market is significantly improving.

3. I’m not sure of my next step…

Don’t know what I want to do after graduation.
This might be because you’ve realised you don’t want to do a job related to your degree and so the question is, now what? Or might be for Geography students that you aren’t sure what jobs there are that use your degree.
There are two ways of approaching the ‘what next’ question: first is think about it now, second is wait until your exams are over.
Recommend that you start to think about it now. Experience of working with graduates who don’t start thinking about it until July/August after graduation is that whilst they get into work, it takes them an extra 2-3 months over other graduates because they are starting the process late. Often the first barrier is working out how to even approach this question. Here are a few ideas:

Attend career events to get a feel for different areas of work

Outline first the two types of job vacancy available to you. Deadlines different for each one.
First is on a graduate scheme – this is a 1-3 year scheme with a company whereby alongside the job that you do you will get lots of training for the job: exist in lots of different sectors. Most deadlines for this are October and Nov. Start researching and applying now: schemes have opened.
Second way is through a graduate level position. These are open throughout the year so you can apply for these spring/summer next year . How most people find their jobs.
For further study try to get your application in Dec - April.

Finally: for anyone panicking and thinking – I have NOTHING on my CV –QProjects opportunities: project leader 1 day/week local charity.
It is very difficult to help someone into employment after graduation who hasn’t done anything other than course and part time work. Everything from leadership positions like course rep, & society committees help your applications. But some kind of experience in any professional environment is going to be the game-changer.
If you don’t have this on your CV then QProjects can be what will get you that job after graduation. Doesn’t matter if not in area that you want to work in or you don’t want to work in a charity – value is the transferable skills gained from a work place environment.
