English Baccalaureate ‘Broad and Balanced Curriculum’ It is not a qualification It does not enable entry to sixth form or higher education English Baccalaureate Measure of pupils who have gained 5 (GCSE level) qualifications in the following subjects: English (core curriculum) Mathematics (core curriculum) Science (core curriculum) History or Geography (option subjects) French, German or Spanish (option subjects) It may be preferable to some Russell Group Universities where competition for more popular courses is high We neither encourage or discourage EBACC combinations The EBACC route is a combination of typically more challenging GCSEs

Students may select one subject from each of the four blocks. Option Subjects A B C D GCSE Computing GCSE Art & Design CNC Child Development GCSE French NVQ Level 1 Beauty GCSE D&T: Graphics GCSE D&T: Resistant GCSE Geography GCSE Drama GCSE Engineering GCSE German GCSE D&T: Textiles GCSE Food GCSE History GCSE Spanish GCSE Media Studies GCSE Physical Education GCSE Music   GCSE Photography GCSE Religious Studies Technical Award: Sport Students may select one subject from each of the four blocks.   Students must then select reserve option choices, of two subjects in each block. There is no guarantee students will get all four of their option choices, which is why reserve choices are so important.
