NCAA Clearinghouse - Eligibility Center Confirm your compliance with all NCAA eligibility requirements as they do change Sophomore (Grade 10) year Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center by creating a Student account www.eligibilitycenter.org Junior year (Grade 11) Take ACT / SAT and use NCAA code 9999 – results to identified colleges Upload your official transcripts to the NCAA Eligibility Center Senior year (Grade 12) Complete NCAA core courses Re-take ACT / SAT if necessary Complete all academic & amateurism questions in you Student account Division I – Must be certified by NCAA Eligibility Center BEFORE: You can make Official Visits to campus You can sign a National Letter of Intent You can compete at a NCAA Division I or Division II school Read bullets on slide U15 do not need to register here yet Go to web site. AAU Certification – All teams http://www.aausports.org/ $14 (1 year) or $28 (2 years) – year = Aug-Aug Must be registered to play in AAU certified tournaments Team can be DISQUALIFIED if you play without registering Kansas Elite Club Code - WW9BW8 AAU Card Print Card after registering – located on payment receipt Keep Card in player’s bag Read bullets on slide Our team can be DISQUALIFIED if you play in a tournament without being registered! NCAA Division I Recruiting Calendar

Example of Division I Recruiting Calendar (Summary of 2012 / 2017 ) August 1, 2016 through July 31, 2017 (GENERAL OVERVIEW) See attached Calendar for details August – Quiet Period (end of evaluation period) September – Contact Period (club tournaments) October thru February – Evaluation Period (high school games) March – Contact Period April through July – Evaluation Period (club tournaments) Overview of Quiet / Dead / Contact / Evaluation Read bullets on slide Log in to CaptainU site as an example and give brief explanation We will go over all three in more detail in the next class

Contact with College Coaches (NCAA – Div I & II) (n addition to the college recruiting calendar periods) Freshman year thru Sept 1st of Junior year Coaches are allowed to: Send you camp brochures, NCAA information and Questionnaires Accept your phone calls (if you leave a message or text the Coach cannot return your call) Coaches are NOT allowed to: Call you on the phone Send you any written recruiting information Unofficial Visits You can make unofficial visits to a college campus You can talk with college coaches while on the campus visit Junior year (Sept 1 – July 1) Coaches can send you information about their program and school Coaches cannot answer your emails nor send you emails End of Junior year (after July 1) Coaches can make 1 phone call per week to you or your parents You can call coach as often as you wish Senior Year Once classes begin – you can make 5 Official visits to college campuses Coaches must have official ACT score and high school transcripts BEFORE visit Calls and written correspondence is the same as Junior year You must also consult the official NCAA Recruitment Calendar for specific Contact / Evaluation / Quiet / Dead Periods. Until the end of your Junior Year and the end of the Fall Quiet period – Coaches will often contact KE coaches to coordinate player calls to the Coach. NAIA – Division I, II, III Recruiting Calendar

NAIA (all Divisions), NCAA Division III & 2 year Colleges Communicating with NAIA Coaches Not governed by the same restrictive NCAA Division I & II rules Coaches can call, send information and communicate directly with parents/players Majority of these coaches will recruit during same summer periods as NCAA coaches.
