What is Universalization? “As both a process and an end in itself, universalization implies an increasingly pervasive, abiding and singular focus not only on global issues per se but on social, economic and cultural opportunities extending into our solar system, our galaxy, and well beyond where cooperation supersedes conflict negotiation.” Edmonds and Hewitt (2014) Url: wikipedia.org/universalization

Next Generation Leaders UNIVERSAL Strategy Vision Statement: Universities will be the world's best transformative community where …alumni become universal leaders Next Generation Leaders Education, Research & Creativity Campus Relations Mobility The mission of ISFS is to… ISFS plays a critical role promoting OHIO’s global strategy that has been recently completed and shared with the Board of Trustees (October 2016). The Global Strategy is designed to produce the strategic outcomes of global education, mobility, diversity and relations that help the university achieve its vision to create global leaders. By serving the international population on campus, ISFS contributes to the diversity agenda that is ever so critical at the current time. The global strategy asserts that Ohio University should increase international student enrollment not only for the financial gains but also for the enrichment of campus and classroom experiences for all students and faculty and the broader implications for the community at large. One of the strategic priorities is to build a holistic approach to recruit and support international students and alumni by creating a support system encompassing entire university experience; from recruitment/enrollment to onboarding/orientation, from academic and non-academic advising to career and leadership development that will lead to increased international alumni relations and development outcomes.
