British Council Schools Online (BCSO) Portal BCSO is a web community with a variety of online tools designed to help enable teachers to network with one another, seek and share advice, access professional development resources and join or form partnerships with schools to work together on international projects.

Adding New Users Each school should be registered only once Once the school is registered, the details of that particular school will be stored in the database Another teacher from the same school can be added without having to fill the school details again

Template Projects There are free 20+ projects available on the portal for schools to download and adapt or use straight away. Culture in a Box, Fiesta and The games we play are the three most popular project templates Registered schools have the opportunity to carry out these projects in one of our project spaces.

Partner Finding Schools registered on the British Council Schools Online portal automatically have access to the School Search, which features over 40,000 schools in 184 countries and can help them find the perfect school partner. There are two ways of Partner Finding: 1. Select a Template Project and then find a partner 2. Find a partner and then select a Template Project

Project Space A project space is a virtual place where the schools discuss and plan projects as well as upload documents and multimedia files. The project space is secure and only accessible to members. Both partners are required to submit project space request forms in order to confirm that they have both agreed to work together on a specific project and that they have a fixed timeline for completion of work.

Reporting After completion of an online project, one of the partner school needs to inform the BCSO team that the project has been completed and the Project Space could be closed. They also need to fill and submit a local Reporting form to the Pakistan Schools team in their region. The schools may get up to 4 certificates for students, 2 for teachers and 1 for school on successful completion of an online project and submission of the project report.

Throughout the International Learning – get started course you will explore a range of ways of working with schools in other parts of the world and of developing international learning and global citizenship in your curriculum. Please note that it only takes an hour to complete and you will also receive a Certificate on completion of the course. Online Course
