Endangered species and adaptations BY SAVANNA

Endangered animals Black rhinos Tiger Woodland caribou Grey wolf Pandas Siamese crocodile Brown spider monkey Blue throated macaw

Why animals are endangered 1. They lose their habitat. 2. Diseases 3. Poachers 4. Competition with other creatures 5. pollution

African Endangered species In Africa there are lots of endangered species for example a mountain gorilla. In Africa there is lots of litter so even more pollution for animals.

ADAPTATIONS

Grassland adaptations Adapted animals for example a giraffe. Giraffes have long necks so then they can eat high leaves on trees and can see their predators. Also their heart is 3 times bigger than a human heart and it needs to be bigger so it can get all the way to the top of the neck. Lions have loose tummy skin but its not a bad thing. Its because when prey kick the lion its doesn’t hurt as much. Male lions have a thick mane to make it look larger and more fiercer and it also protects the lions throat. Lizards have a disadvantage when predators grab their tale because its harder for escape and they also lose fat so they loose energy and food. Most lizard live in very hot islands or countries so thy have very thick skin so they wont dry out in the dessert.

These are examples of habitats.

Artic adaptations Penguins can not fly but are brilliant swimmers and it is useful for them because they are mostly surrounded by water. Also they have webbed feet and wings shaped like flippers so it helps them to swim.

Adaptations Adaptations is how animals adapt to their way of living. Endangered Endangered means their number is getting lower and lower.
