Manheim Central School District Comprehensive Plan

District Improvement Plan Goal 1: Establish a system that fully ensures consistent implementation of standards aligned curricula across all schools for all students. Goal 2: Establish a district that fully ensures the consistent implementation of effective instructional practices across all classrooms in each school. Goal 3: Establish a district system that fully ensures high quality curricular assets (e.g. model curricula, learning progressions, units, lesson plans, and content resources) aligned with state standards and fully accessible to teachers and students.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION PLAN Based on Standards for Professional Development  Aligned to at least one component of the Danielson Framework  Aligned with the PA Core or PA Academic Standards On-going Assessment of Needs  District level-Comprehensive Planning  School Level—School Improvement Plans  Individual Evaluation and Feedback from Reflections Long and Short Range Planning  Establishment of a District Professional Development Committee  Develop a Needs Assessment  Look at three year long range professional development plan  Topics requiring immediate attention (i.e. Teacher Effectiveness) Essential Question: How will the Manheim Central School District ensure that Professional Development is timely, high quality, and relevant to student and teacher needs?

SPECIAL EDUCATION PLAN Educate students in the Least Restrictive Environment  IEP team starts with discussion of regular education placement with supplementary aides and services  Transition plans/contracts for students to return to MCSD from outside of district placements Increase Continuum of Supports and Services to Educate and Provide Transition Services to Students in Home District  Utilize IU 13 and agency specialized supports such as Tac (Training and Consultant) Team, Autism Solutions services, Behavior Specialists, OVR (Office of Vocational Rehabilitation) partnership, Pre-ETS (Pre- employment Transition Services) program, TAP (Transition to Adult Planning and Services) program  Special Education Department added a new secondary transition program, The Next Step Program Ongoing Para Educator and Professional Training  Provide 20 hours per year of Special Education Para Educator training based on input from surveys  Monthly meetings with each building professional staff, individualized meetings with Special Education Consultant and Professional Development opportunities available Essential Question: How will the Manheim Central School District meet the needs of students receiving special education services?
