Rime Magic Decoding Strategies “Learning Games”

Stand-Up Rimes Activity Purpose: reinforce students’ ability to hear the rime within a two-syllable word as it is spoken aloud Materials: Magic Rime Cards Have students sit on rug. After practicing, choose four students to join you. Have each of the four students hold a Magic Rime card. Teacher provides a target word and class determines which student helper has the Magic Rime inside the word.
