Restructure of Training Packages

Background to change 2009 – NQC and COAG released report ‘VET products for the 21 st Century’ which included recommendations related to improving training packages December 2010 – NQC (replaced by NSSC) endorsed model for ‘streamlining’ units of competency. Aim was to shorten, simplify and segment training packages At that time all training packages were to be changed to the new model by June 2012 so ‘streamlining’ began according to draft model 2011 – Development of Standards for Training Packages to replace Training Package Development Handbook which were endorsed in November January 2014 – No more training packages endorsed in traditional format 1 January 2015 – Qualifications must align with AQF 31 December 2015 – All training packages must comply with NSSC Standards for Training Packages

CUA Live Performance and Entertainment Training Package CUE03 Entertainment qualifications endorsed in CUA Live Performance and Entertainment Training Package in October 2013 Developed and endorsed in the new restructured format Included in this endorsement was the restructured units and qualifications in the CUA11 Live Performance Training Package, predominantly dance qualifications Expanded the title of the package from CUA11 Live Performance to CUA Live Performance and Entertainment Expanded title allows the inclusion of other cultural sectors, eg Music

Screen and Media Training Package & Music Training Package Proposal is to consolidate these two packages and have the qualifications endorsed in the CUA Live Performance and Entertainment Training Package All units have been transitioned to the new format and have been through their first edit All units available on IBSA Feedback Hub for feedback/comment A discussion group has been created on IBSA VET Community Proposed qualifications are currently being transitioned to the new format National consultation scheduled April/May Endorsement by the end of this year

CUV11 Visual Arts, Craft and Design Training Package Restructure Training Package to ensure compliance with Standards for Training Packages and to ensure currency of content and ‘fit for purpose’ –to ‘fix’ any known errors –to address any documented ISC Upgrades –2 new units Qualifications to be endorsed in the CUV Arts and Culture Training Package NSSC endorsement by the middle of 2015

CUL11 Library, Information and Cultural Services Training Package Restructure Training Package to ensure compliance with Standards for Training Packages and to ensure currency of content and ‘fit for purpose’ Looking at option to have library qualifications endorsed in the BSB Business Services Training Package Museum qualifications to be endorsed in the CUA Arts and Cultural Training Package NSSC endorsement by the middle of 2015
