What We Do And How We Do It Hayes Elementary PTSA

The PTSA Executive Board Six parents who plan and execute events.  We also have Chairpersons for committees like Watch D.O.G.S., Book Fair, Science Fair, Hospitality, and International Day. We ask for volunteers to help on days of events… … and We Have FUN serving our school !

We organize and execute events that support our school’s mission, students, teachers and administration. What PTSA Does

Scholastic Book Fair Holiday Breakfast Many hands help make the Book Fair a great success every year. A Free Event for Hayes Families to kickoff the Holiday Season. Major Events

International Day Daddy Daughter Dance A Free Event for the Hayes Community to celebrate our diversity. Major Events Our 1 st annual DDD was a huge success and this year we want to make it bigger and better!

Daddy Daughter Dance (so much fun we have to add more pics)

Student Enrichment Reflections Art Contest Science Fair

Teacher Appreciation Staff Appreciation We organize luncheons, room parents, and teacher appreciation week. We acknowledge our Custodians, Bus Drivers, School Nurse, and School Staff. Appreciation Days

School Spirit We sell and wear our Spirit Wear T-shirts. We celebrate Teacher of the Year. We have fun with School Spirit Week. We host Spirit Nights and Family Fun Nights to cultivate our Community – The Mustang Nation!

Scholarships and Grants We sponsor scholarships to Kennesaw Mountain High School seniors. Monetary Gifts for Eagle Scout projects. We provide gift cards to teachers for Give Our Schools a Hand week. We donate to specific fundraisers for:  School Beautification  Hayes Learning Commons  Target Playground Project.

We raise money through fundraisers to pay for all our events. We ask volunteers to help execute events, set-up, clean-up, manning stations, etc. Increased Membership in PTSA will help us increase funds and give us a broader base of talented, hardworking, helpful volunteers. 4 out of 6 Exec. Board members have jobs outside the home, and we understand that is it difficult for working parents to give of their time, so we have single-time opportunities to volunteer, and many events are held in the evenings or on weekends. How We Do It

Fundraising We have one major fundraising event each year which is the Fall Fundraiser, going on right now. We try to provide as many FREE events as possible. We need your Membership Support to help cover the costs of free events. Your $6 dues helps support us in all we do. Larger Fundraisers Our Fall Fundraiser is our biggest source of funds. Sales of Spirit Wear and PTSA Membership dues at Meet n Greet. Scholastic Book Fair Smaller fundraisers School Spirit Nights Box Tops; Kroger and Publix points; Shoparoo points

Being a member of Hayes PTSA also makes you a member of Georgia PTA and The National PTA. Being a member gives you a voice, to give us input on how we conduct activities. You also have a voice with state and national legislative action, like the current issue of OSD (Opportunity School District). Being a member sets a great example as a role model to your children. When you get involved in school, your children will care about school more. Benefits of Hayes PTSA Membership

Please vote NO on the proposed amendment Number 1 on OSD in the upcoming election. The proposed legislation allows the State of Georgia to take over low performing school districts, and take local control out of the hands of local boards. The Georgia PTA is against this proposal. Please visit our table to pick up a flyer with more information about this current Georgia legislation that will be voted on in the upcoming November election. Opportunity School District (OSD)

Please visit our table to learn more and become Hayes PTSA Members! Please join us: We need your support! We need volunteers (but only for certain occasions). Get involved in your child’s school! We want you to contribute your ideas, feedback, and talents. Thank you for watching.
