BACKIS O VERALL PRESENTATION BACKIS Programme EMA2 – Lot 5

E RASMUS M UNDUS P ROGRAMME A CTION 2 It is a programme funded by the European Commission complementary to other higher education initiatives of the European Union (Edulink, Tempus…) It finances partnerships for student and staff mobility between Europe and “Third Countries ” grouped in geographical lots. It is a cooperation and mobility scheme at 5 levels : Undergraduates, Master, Doctorate, Post-doc, Academic staff.

A S PECIFIC G EOGRAPHICAL AREA TARGETED Lot 5 countries : Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine. A geographical interest for the area located between Black Sea and Caspian Sea (South Caucasus and Ukraine). A wide EU consortium with 8 universities coming from 8 EU countries.

P ROJECT D URATION The project began on July 15th 2012 and will end on July 14th Years duration Two cohorts (two selection committees) Mobility will start from June to 31st December 2013 : any long-term mobility must start in that period;

T ARGET GROUP 1 (L OT 5 – 2 ND COHORT ) TG1 : Registered students, academic and administrative staff from the Lot 5 universities 77 TG1 (lot 5) scholarships foreseen All levels of mobility

T ARGET GROUP 2 (L OT 5 – 2 ND COHORT ) TG2: Nationals of the Lot 5 countries involved, who are registered/work or habe been graduated in a HEI of these countries that is not included in the partnership 36 TG2 (lot 5) scholarships foreseen All levels of mobility

T ARGET GROUP 3 (L OT 5 – 2 ND COHORT ) TG3 : Nationals of the Lot 5 countries involved who are in particularly vulnerable situations, for economic, social and political reasons 11 TG3 (lot 5) scholarships foreseen Levels of mobility : Undergraduate / Master / Doctorate

M OBILITY RULES Target Group 1 students have to be registered in their home university during their mobility Target Group 2 students selected for Mobility exchange have to be registered in their home university during their mobility Target Group 2 students selected for a Full degree don’t have to be registered in a home insitution Target Group 3 students have to include in their application a certificate proving their status

M OBILITY D URATION Mobility duration depends of the Mobility level Undergraduate: 6/10 and 22 months (only for TG3) Master: 10 and 22 months (only for TG2 and TG3) Doctorate: 12 and 22 months (for all the TG) Post-doctorate: 6 months Staff: 1 and 2 months

M ONTHLY A LLOWANCE The monthly allowance varies depending on the level of mobility. Undergraduate: euro/month Master: euro/month Doctorate: euro/month Post-doctorate: euro/month Academic & Administrative Staff: euro/month
