1 ABOUT IANUS II The IANUS II project is an Erasmus Mundus mobility programme financed by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus Mundus programme, Action 2 – Partnerships with Third Country higher education institutions and scholarships for mobility, covering the geographical Lot 5: Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

3 TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS Target Group 1 (TG1)
If you are a Lot 5 (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine) citizen and you are registered / work at a IANUS II partner university in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine, you belong to Target Group 1 and you may apply for an undergraduate, master, doctorate, post-doctorate, academic or administrative staff mobility (short duration programme) or for a full degree master programme;

4 TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS Target Group 2 (TG2)
If you are a Lot 5 (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine) citizen and you are registered/ work at a higher education institution in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine not included in the IANUS II partnership, you belong to Target Group 2 and you may apply for a master, doctorate, post-doctorate, academic or administrative staff mobility (full degree master or short duration programme); If you are a Lot 5 (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine) citizen and you have obtained a university degree in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine, you also belong to Target Group 2 and you may apply for a full degree master programme; TG2 students MAY NOT apply for a scholarship at undergraduate level.

5 TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS Target Group 3 (TG3) If you are a Lot 5 (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine) citizen and you are in particularly vulnerable situations, for social and political reasons for one of the following 3 reasons: you have a refugee status or asylum beneficiaries (international or according to the national legislation of one of the European recipient countries) or it can be proved that you have been the object of unjustified expulsion from university on racial, ethnic, religious, political, gender or sexual inclination or you belong to an indigenous population targeted by a specific national policy or IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons).

6 Mobility levels Undergraduate = mobilities for students registered in undergraduate programmes at their home university, who have successfully completed at least one year of their studies (only available for TG1 candidates); Master (non-degree) = mobilities for students who are currently registered in a master's programme at their home university; Master (full degree) = mobilities for students who have graduated/ are in their final year of undergraduate studies and hold/ are about to obtain a diploma granting access to master studies; Doctorate = mobilities for students/ young researchers who are currently enrolled in a doctoral programme at their home university; Post-doctorate = mobilities for young researchers holding a doctoral degree; Staff = mobilities for academic and administrative staff (academics, researchers and university administrators).

7 WHO CAN APPLY FOR A IANUS II SCHOLARSHIP? (I)
Undergraduate, Master and Doctoral students, Post-doctoral researchers and staff registered / working at universities from Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine (the Erasmus Mundus lot 5 countries), citizens of one of the above-mentioned countries, who are interested in studying in one of the EU institutions members of the IANUS II consortium; Students may not benefit from a second EM Ianus II scholarship for the same type of mobility (undergraduate, master, doctorate, post-doctorate); candidates may, of course, apply for a scholarship of a different type than EM Ianus II from within another Erasmus Mundus project; Candidates may not benefit from more than one mobility activity within the EM Ianus II project.

8 WHO CAN APPLY FOR A IANUS II SCHOLARSHIP? (II)
Students (Undergraduate, Master, Doctorate and Post-doctorate): Must be a national of one of the above-mentioned countries; Must have not resided nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc) for more than a total of 12 months over the last 5 years in any European country at the time of submitting their application to the partnership; Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies in their home institution; Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of the courses or of one of the languages currently spoken in the hosting countries. Academic and administrative staff Must be a national of one of the eligible countries;

11 The scholarship you receive from the EM – IANUS II covers (I)

12 The scholarship you receive from the EM – IANUS II covers (II)
insurance (health, travel, accident): up to a maximum of 75 euro/month of mobility. The Coordinating institution will manage insurance for all IANUS II grantees.

13 The scholarship you receive from the EM – IANUS II covers (III)

14 Application procedure
Before applying for a IANUS II scholarship, you should: Check the eligibility criteria and make sure that you are eligible for a IANUS scholarship; Inform yourself on the study programmes/ scholarships offered by the host universities, both on the IANUS website (academic offer) and on the website of the respective universities; Inform yourself on specific selection and admission requirements of the host universities (partners section of the website) and of the specific study programme you decide to apply for (academic offer section on the website); Inform yourself on the documents to be uploaded with your application: documents to be uploaded. IANUS II candidates may apply for 2 different host universities, thus increasing your chances of being granted an Erasmus Mundus IANUS II scholarship.

15 Application form (I) The IANUS II application form is divided into steps: STEP 1: Register for an account on this page It is very important that you provide a valid address. (Please note that you are only allowed to register once. If you register and apply from several accounts, the selection committee will only consider the first one.) STEP 2: Once you have created an account, you will receive your personal link to the application form. The link will be sent in an to the address you enter on this page.

16 Application form (II) STEP 3: You can use the link you received in the confirmation to apply for up to two host universities and courses. You only have to fill in your personal information the first time. !!! Do not select both your options for the same host university. Only applying for 2 different options may increase your chances of being selected. STEP 4: Upload all required documents corresponding to the type of your mobility and the specific requirements of the host university/ universities. Please note that you have to upload all required documents to have a complete application that will be considered during the selection process.

17 Application form (III)
Important! Your application is not complete and may not be submitted until you have gone through all the steps. All applications and required documents must be submitted using our online tool. Applications or required documents sent by or regular mail will not be considered eligible. Once you submit your application, you will provided with a confirmation of receipt. Your file will be saved and remain accessible until you have uploaded all required documents for each individual mobility; you will be able to access and modify any information only before you press the SUBMIT button! 18 Documents to be uploaded
Important!   All uploaded documents should be in English. At this stage of the application, you may translate the documents yourself. However, you should keep in mind that, if selected, you will have to provide a scanned copy of the original documents, together with the authorized translation; in case of any discrepancy between the information (e.g. dates, years, grades, etc.) provided by the 2 translations, you will be automatically disqualified. For all study records/ certificates , you will upload both the scanned original (signed and stamped by your home university) and the translation of the respective document into English.

19 Documents to be uploaded
Important!  Some partner universities may ask for additional documents and certificates (for example a proof of registration, degrees and transcripts from all previous study levels, a pre-admission letter from the host university or certified translations). Please make sure that you have read the corresponding University Information Sheet that is available, on the Partners page, for each partner university. Furthermore, you should check the specific description of the study programme you would like to follow in the Academic Offer section of the website. Students who wish to apply as a TG3 candidate need to upload the same documents as TG1/ TG2 sttudents and also add the proof that they belong to one of the three TG3 categories (refugee/ asylum beneficiary/ IDP) – please check the section on Types of Scholarships

Some EU partners only accept applications from students who have already graduated and hold a bachelor diploma. 26 Steps in the selection process (I)
Application Online application tool open between 3 November 2014 and 20 January 2015; candidates fill in the online application form, upload all necessary documents and submit their application. 2. Eligibility check Once the application is closed, the home institutions will check the eligibility of the submitted applications (registration of the candidate at the appropriate study level at the home university, compliance with the Erasmus Mundus eligibility rules and whether the application file contains all the documents required by the IANUS II project and the host university). The eligibility check for candidates who are not registered / work at one of the IANUS II partner universities will be done by the Coordinator, the Co-Coordinator, and a representative from one partner university in the respective country.

27 Steps in the selection process (II)
3. Grading The eligible files will be evaluated and graded by the host institutions according to the common grading grid decided upon by the IANUS II partnership. 4. Final selection The Selection Committee will meet and do the final selection of the candidates, based on the host HEI grading and taking into account cross-cutting issues and the balance of mobility flows among the partner institutions. 5. Check and confirmation The home and host institutions will do a final check of the selected applications and confirm the final list of selected applicants.

28 Steps in the selection process (III)
6. Notification of results The final results will be communicated to the Project Management Team and to the candidates. The selected candidates will have 14 days to accept or reject the scholarship. All cases of cancellation will be solved by the Selection Committee in due time. 7. Appeals (within 72 hours) All evaluation stages (eligibility, grading and selection) are followed by a notification of the results sent to all candidates. Reserve and rejected candidates will also be informed on the reasons leading to this decision and they will have the possibility to appeal against it before the next stage of the selection process.

29 Start date for mobilities
All student mobilities (undergraduate, master, doctorate and post-doctorate) will start before December 31, 2015. Staff mobilities may start at any time during the academic year
