On September 11, 2001, there was an attack on America.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, four planes were hijacked and attacked America in a terrible way. Two of the airplanes were crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City.

The third plane was crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

The last plane was going to crash into another building in Washington, D.C., but the passengers stopped the hijackers, and the plane crashed into a field instead.

Timeline of September 11 th, :46 AM Plane crashes into the north tower of the World Trade Center. 9:03 AM Plane crashes into the south tower of the World Trade Center. 9:17 AM The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) shuts down all New York City area airports. 9:21 AM The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) halts all flights at U.S. airports. It is the first time in history that air traffic has been halted nationwide. 9:38 AM Plane crashes into the Pentagon. On September 11, 2001, Emily Sussell was an 11-year-old New Yorker. It was her fourth day of 6th grade at Intermediate School 89, just four blocks away from the World Trade Center. Everyone thought it was just another normal day — until a loud crash shook the school building. At first, Emily thought the shaking was because of a car accident — her school was right on a highway. But that wasn't the case. Instead, a plane had flown into one of the Twin Towers. Emily was scared and confused. No one knew what to do. What was going on? &bctid=
