Overview Electronic Learning (e-learning) is defined as learning that is delivered via electronic technology and involve a set of applications and processes to include: Web-based learning Computer-based learning Virtual classrooms Digital collaboration

E-Learning The delivery of instruction can be include: Internet, Intranet/extranet (LAN/WAN) Audio or Videotapes Satellite Broadcast Interactive TV CD ROM

E-Learning Generally, the educator and learner are not present together in the same room and are separated by time, space, or distance. E-learning can be: Asynchronous – pre-recorded and available anytime Synchronous – live, real-time with all learners connected via technology Blended – combination of online, synchronous and asynchronous, and traditional methods such as face- to-face Blended approach found to be most effective for longer and formal training programs
