Grad Requirements STA Policy Students are required to take all graduation requirements for the respective year at STA unless the course has already been successfully completed elsewhere (usually at summer school or online during the summer or in a previous term). Students must pass CE 12 in order to participate in all Graduation Activities in June. The drop deadline for courses is September 25, 2015.

Registering for Courses Grade 12s Initial course registration will be open online in April (date TBD) From the initial selections a timetable will be built top accommodate as many students as possible and ensure graduation credits are available to everyone. Students will go online in May to pick their actual timetable. Students continuing in the Honours English 12 class will have an information meeting on April 14, 2015 regarding advanced credit for university.

Summer School & DL Ascend (Catholic DL school) North Van, West Van, Burnaby Calendar comes out in May and courses fill up fast. Vancouver Learning Network Offers on-line and traditional correspondence courses. John Oliver SS (Main & 41 st). LearnNowBC.ca ***Check graduation requirements DL marks & upgrades (must be 50% complete in Jan, and 100% completion by April)

Study Blocks Students are required to be enrolled in at least 6 credit courses at STA in their senior year. Grade 12 students may elect to have a study block. Category A – off campus Category B – only on campus (library or cafeteria) Students can also apply for a Community Service Block OR a Leadership Block. Selection is based on student experience and teacher need.

Online and Challenge Courses STA recommendation is to take all required courses here at STA Students who do not have a required course completed by Fall admission, will be required to take the course at STA (drop in-progress online course) Online courses are challenging; extra help not easily available and deadlines are set but there is no one to supervise progression of work For university entrance, online courses must be 50% completed by Jan. 31 and 100% completed by April to be consider for entrance average. For pre-requisite coursework, the deadlines are relaxed Challenge marks cannot be used for Entrance Averages (UBC)
