Language 11 (includes Beginner Languages) Pre-Calculus 11 or Foundations of Math 11 Science 11 Note: all science-based programs require Physics 11 and Chemistry 11 COUNSELLORS’ DAY 2016

6 Grade 12 Requirements English 12, English 12 First Peoples, or Français premiere langue 12 English 12 provincial exam required Three additional approved grade 12 courses SL & HL IB and AP courses may be used in place of approved grade 12 courses Challenge exams are accepted Additional approved grade 12 course list for applicants to the School for the Contemporary Arts COUNSELLORS’ DAY 2016

7 Math Requirement Pre-calculus 12 is required for the following:
Faculty of Applied Science Beedie School of Business Faculty of Communication, Art & Technology - Interactive Arts & Technology Faculty of Environment, BSc Faculty of Health Sciences, BSc Faculty of Science Foundations of Math 11 or Pre-calculus 11 required for all Arts-based programs COUNSELLORS’ DAY 2016

8 Admission Average Calculated on English 12 and three additional approved grade 12 courses Courses used in the calculation of the average are those required for the program 80 – 90% depending on the program Average does not differ by campus Admission averages are available on our website and are updated throughout the admissions cycle COUNSELLORS’ DAY 2016

9 Self-Reporting Grades
All students must self-report their grades by April 30th Self-reporting grades portal is open from January 4th through April 30th, 2017 Report final grade 11 and interim grade 12 marks Grades for Distributed Learning (DL) courses must be 100% complete to be used for admission COUNSELLORS’ DAY 2016

10 IB Students School counsellors submit the IB Predicted Grades form - available online: IB points required depending on the program IB Diploma holders receive one full year of transfer credit Partial IB Diploma students receive transfer credit for HL courses complete with a grade of 5 or higher COUNSELLORS’ DAY 2016

11 Diverse Qualifications
More than just grades… Possible option for students who do not meet the competitive admission average Must meet minimum university admission requirements Submit Personal Information Profile (PIP) online and one reference letter Document deadline: June 1, 2017 COUNSELLORS’ DAY 2016

Minimum final blended grade of 60% in English 12, English 12 First Peoples, or Français premiere langue 12 is required for admission Minimum final blended grade of 75% in English 12 (or equivalent) or in English Literature 12 required to register in a writing (W) course Students with 60 – 74% must either complete the Foundations of Academic Literacy (FAL) course or write the LPI COUNSELLORS’ DAY 2016

23 Quantitative & Analytical Skills Requirement
Minimum grade of 60% in one of: Foundations of Math 11 or 12, Pre-Calculus 11 or 12 required for admission Minimum final grade of 70% required to register in a quantitative (Q) course Students with 60 – 69% must either complete the Foundations of Analytical & Quantitative Reasoning (FAN) course or write Q-Placement Test COUNSELLORS’ DAY 2016
