PRE-AP COURSE OFFERINGS 6 TH GRADE: ELA MATH SCIENCE SOCIAL STUDIES 7 TH GRADE: ELA MATH SCIENCE SOCIAL STUDIES 8 TH GRADE: ELA MATH (ALGEBRA) SCIENCE (SCIENCE & BIOLOGY) SOCIAL STUDIES

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS GUIDELINES (6 th, 7 th, 8 th ) Must have passed the previous year’s ELA STAAR test Must maintain a 78 grade average for each six weeks If grade is below 78 for one six-weeks, student is put on probation If grade is below 78 for a second consecutive six-weeks, student is removed from the class and to be placed in a regular ELA class

SOCIAL STUDIES GUIDELINES (6 th, 7 th, 8 th ) There is no previous year STAAR test Must maintain a 78 grade average for each six weeks If grade is below 78 for one six-weeks, student is put on probation If grade is below 78 for a second consecutive six-weeks, student is removed from the class and to be placed in a regular Social Studies class

MATH GUIDELINES (6 th Grade) Two Tracks: Pre-AP Hybrid (Combo of 6 th & 7 th Gr Math) Pre-AP Advanced (7 th Grade Math)

MATH GUIDELINES (6 th Grade) Pre-AP Hybrid Track (Combo of 6 th and 7 th Gr Math) Must have passed the 5 th grade Math STAAR test Must maintain a 78 grade average for each six weeks If grade is below 78 for one six-weeks, student is put on probation If grade is below 78 for a second consecutive six- weeks, student is removed from the class and to be placed in a regular Math class Will Take 6 th Grade Math STAAR test

Must maintain a 78 grade average for each six weeks If grade is below 78 for one six-weeks, student is put on probation If grade is below 78 for a second consecutive six- weeks, student is removed from the class and to be placed in a regular Science class Will take 8 th Grade Science STAAR test
