Objectives of the Session Students are expected to: 1- differentiate between the form and use of present and past simple. 2- write some sentences about past events. 3- write some sentences describing facts and habits.

The Present SimpleThe past Simple We use this tense to talk about things in general, facts and habits. - Nurses look after patients. - He is a teacher. - The earth goes round the sun. We use this tense to talk about actions that happened and finished in the past. - I saw Ali yesterday. - He was a teacher. - They ate their lunch. - Were they friends?. - Do nurses look after patient? - Is he a teacher? - Does he teach secondary school students? - Are you tired? - Do you play football? - Did you see Ali yesterday? - Was he a teacher? - Did they eat their lunch? - Did she punish you?

1- The Simple Present 1- Where do you live? I live in Khan Younis. 2- Where does he live? He lives in Rafah. 3- Are you a teacher? Yes. I am a teacher. 4- Is he a doctor? No. He isn’t a doctor. 5- When do you get up? I get up at What subjects do you learn? I learn different subjects. 7- What school does he go to? He goes to a state school. 8- Is the discipline very strict? Yes, it is. 9- Are they friends? Yes, they are friends. 10- How do your students behave? They behave well. 11- How does this student behave? He behaves well.
