WaterAid

WaterAid is an international charity set up to improve sanitation and hygiene in 17 developing countries In Burkina Faso women are now producing soap with help from Water Aid. They make a small profit from this but more importantly, it has improved hand washing and reduced diarrhoeal diseases

Soap production

Composting Latrines In Malawi and Mozambique human waste is mixed with soil and ash to form compost. This deals with the waste and produces a fertile compost which improves food production.

Wells In Mozambique simple rope wells are being used. Low maintenance and cost efficient. No technical support is required and local people are able operate and maintain.
