2. Introduction WaterAid was set up in 1981 for the purpose of providing safe water. It works in developing countries to help communities to get clean water supplies and sanitation. WaterAid relies on donations from the public, as it is a voluntary organisation and does not get any money from the Government. Politics of Aid 14

3. WaterAid In 2003, WaterAid was named UK charity of the year. It currently works in 17 countries in Africa and Asia to help poor communities establish sustainable water supplies and latrines, close to home. It also works to influence the water and sanitation policies of governments, to serve the interests of vulnerable people. Politics of Aid 14

4. WaterAid Politics of Aid 14 WaterAid is part of the Make Poverty History campaign. Its twice-yearly magazine is called Oasis and includes news and features on planned and completed projects.
