  Its Importance  Its Author  Its Date  Its Interpretation  Allegorical- States that the prophecies are spiritualized into principles (ignores Rev. 1:19). Symbolism  Preterist- States that the book is a symbolic history of conflicts between the early church and Rome at the time of John.  Historical- States that it is a summary of church history through the Second Coming. “Progressive fulfillment.”  Futuristic- States that the prophesies of Revelation are for the most part future in fulfillment.
