  “ Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things. ” Revelation 1:3

  Its Importance  Its Author  Its Date  Its Interpretation  Allegorical- States that the prophecies are spiritualized into principles (ignores Rev. 1:19). Symbolism  Preterist- States that the book is a symbolic history of conflicts between the early church and Rome at the time of John.  Historical- States that it is a summary of church history through the Second Coming. “Progressive fulfillment.”  Futuristic- States that the prophesies of Revelation are for the most part future in fulfillment.   Its Chapter Outline  1-3: Past and Present  4-19: 70 th week of Daniel (7-year tribulation)  20: Millennium  21-22: Eternal state  The One-Verse Outline!  The things which thou hast seen (post), Chapter 1  The things which are (present), Chapters 2-3  The things which shall be hereafter (future), Chapters 4-22  Its Symbolism  Its Theology  Its Central Figure More Intro:

  We are “blessed” if we heed God’s Revelation (vs. 3)  Let us not forget who Jesus is (vs. 5-18)  Let us not forget what Jesus has done for us (vs. 5, 6)  Those who are abused for the testimony of Christ are greatly used by Him (vs. 9)  Christ’s great interest is in the local New Testament church (vs. 11, 13, 20) So What?!
