 CUMULATIVE GPA is a combination of student GPAs from ALL THREE trimesters!  Ex: ◦ Trimester One: GPA=1.5 ◦ Trimester Two: GPA=1.8 ◦ Trimester Three: GPA=2.1 ◦ CUMULATIVE GPA=1.8 Not Eligible for Promotion!

* Textbooks Returned (From all 3 grade levels!) and Fees Paid * Lunch Account Fees Paid Uniform Loaner Shirts Returned and Fees Paid * i-Ready Post Test Completed! 3 Days Prior to Promotion

If you are ineligible for promotion, you can write a letter of appeal: Dates to remember – Final Grade Check, Approval/Denial – June 3, 2016 Appeal Letters due to Homeroom Teacher – June 7, 2016 Final decision – June 9, 201 Appeal Letter Clinic: Tuesday, May 31; 3:30-4:15 in room 65

 What should be included in your appeal? ◦ Introduce yourself ◦ Explain why you are ineligible for promotion ◦ Explain what you have learned and the changes you intend to make ◦ Explain why you feel your appeal should be granted

 Who is on the appeal team? ◦ Dr. Newcomb – Principal ◦ Mrs. Flores-Hansen – Assistant Principal ◦ Ms. Sierra – Counselor ◦ Dr. Clegg – District Administrator

 Boys: Dress pants, shirt, and a tie or suit. Dress shoes are preferable  Girls: Dress pants, suits or dresses.  Hemline of skirts/dresses should pass the fingertips when hands are held at the student’s side. Dresses cannot be strapless, backless, or with bare midriffs. Dresses with spaghetti straps can only be worn with a sweater or shrug. No under garment should be visible. Please wear sensible shoes – if you’ve never walked in heels before, promotion is not the time to try for the first time!  Hats will not be allowed for either boys or girls.

 Monday, June 13  Promotion Practice periods 1-4 (and, yes, we will need the whole time!) – 1-3 periods at Excelsior, 4 period in Waite MPR  Awards periods 5 & 6, out in the shade by PE

 Friday, June 17 th  8 th Grade Breakfast  8 th Grade Movie Day  You will receive your report cards and promotion certificates at the end of the day

 Promotion will be at 10:30 AM on June 14, 2016 at Excelsior!  You need to be at school, ready for promotion, at 8:55 AM – regular school day! You must ride the bus to participate in the Promotion Ceremony.  You can be checked out by your parents when promotion is over – check out will be through homeroom  You will receive your promotion certificate and final report card on FRIDAY! You must attend school the rest of the week!

 2.0 GPA for Third Trimester!  Good Behavioral Standing  Return signed Activities letter!  Completed i-Ready final assessment  Total cost is $100 due on Tuesday, May 31! ◦ You can pay beginning Friday, May 1! All payments go to Ms. Dunphyin room 63. ◦ If you have a Disney pass or Disney family member, you must pay $50 and provide proof! ◦ Fundraising is available (chocolate sale) – May 1 – May 31; sell 3 boxes + pay $10 to pay for activities. Mrs. Coryell in room 65 is in charge of fundraising!  You can sell up to 4 boxes to pay for activities and a $20 food voucher at Disneyland  You MUST return a permission slip & activities letter to get chocolate!
