Recycling is the process of making or manufacturing new products from a product that has originally served its purpose. If these used products are disposed of in an appropriate, environmentally friendly way, the process of recycling has been set in motion.

The recycling process is a cycle and is composed of three stages. The first stage is the collecting and sorting. In this stage, waste materials are collected and then processed and sorted according to its type and use. After these materials are sorted, they are ready for the second stage, which is the manufacturing. The manufacturing stage is the phase where the collected and sorted materials are processed into new reusable products. Finally, after new products are manufactured, the next stage follows which is the selling of the recycled products to consumers. When the product that the consumers bought already served its purpose, the recycling process will then again continue as these products are collected.

Recycling Saves Energy Recycling Helps Mitigate Global Warming and Reduce Pollution Recycling Reduces Waste Products in Landfills Recycling Helps you Save Money Recycling Saves the Earth Recycling Conservation of Materials

It is said that every person creates around 4.7 pounds of waste every day. ♦ Recycling an aluminum can preserves enough energy required to run a 100-watt bulb for 20 hours, a computer for 3 hours or a TV for 2 hours. Isn't it an interesting fact? ♦ About 125 recycled aluminum cans save up enough energy required to supply power to one home for 1 day. ♦ Recycled aluminum cans, are ready for reuse in just six weeks! ♦ An amazing fact about glass is that it never wears out and can be recycled forever. A glass bottle takes approximately 1 million years to decompose in a landfill site. ♦ A recycled glass bottle can save enough energy to run a computer for 25 minutes. ♦ Recycled glass containers can save about 9 gallons of fuel. ♦ Another amazing fact - recycled paper produces less air pollution than if it was made from raw materials. ♦ Each ton of recycled mixed paper can conserve energy equivalent to around 185 gallons of gasoline. Recycling is an important step to undertake for preserving our planet by reducing environmental pollution and conserving energy. Hope this article has given you an insight about its benefits.

Cans and bottles… Cans include steel and aluminum cans such as soup, tuna fish, vegetables, and beverage containers. Bottles include both glass and plastic. Shampoo, cooking oil, milk jugs, laundry detergent, soda and water !

By recycling we are helping the environment for the future.

The energy saved from recycling one aluminum can will operate a computer for THREE hours. Throw away enough aluminum every three months to rebuild our entire commercial air fleet. Stack the nearly 19 billion steel cans recycled in 1996 end to end, and you would have a line stretching from here to the moon and back more than three times (based on a can height of 5 inches). Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours – or the equivalent of a half a gallon of gasoline.

The energy saved from recycling one glass bottle will operate a 100-watt light bulb for four hours. Every month, we throw out enough glass bottles and jars to fill up a giant skyscraper. Recycling one ton of glass saves the equivalent of 10 gallons of oil. Glass can be recycled an infinite number of times. A modern glass bottle would take 4000 years or more to decompose – and even longer if it’s in the landfill.

PET bottles provide enough fiberfill for a ski jacket. Everyone use plastic bottles every hour. Most of them are thrown away. Recycling plastic saves twice as much energy as burning it in an incinerator.

How is plastic recycled?

To produce each week’s Sunday newspapers, 500,000 trees must be cut down. If all our newspaper was recycled, we could save about 250,000,000 trees each year. The amount of wood and paper we throw away each year is enough to heat 50,000,000 homes for 20 years..

How is paper recycled?

80 million people live in Turkey. 91 million tons of waste is trown in Turkey everyday

1.14 kg waste is thrown per person.

YOU need to help the planet!

What can be done to help?

We collect the waste oil at home and put it in waste oil collecting machines in the streets.

We put waste oil bottles in this kind of containers which can be found near our apartmants.

One liter vegetable waste oil causes pollution in one million liters of water

The municipalities put battery boxes in the apartments, schools, state offices and collect the boxes regularly.

We collect plastic bottle covers at home and we put them in bins in the streets. All these covers one collected by municipality and we help the physically disabled people to get wheelchair for free.

There are many aid organizations for recycling

There are special waste collecting vehicles for recycling different wastes.

Recyling at home We have three different kind of waste bins in our kitchens. They are for general kitchen waste, glasses, packets and cartons.

These materials can be easily separated for recycling at home. newspaperplasticglass

We make handbags from old jeans. We use some botles as kitchen gadget for dry products

We use stale bread for our soups, desserts and meat balls at homes.

Recycle takes little effort on your part, for a big diffference to our world.

Don’t throw it away,it can be used in some other way

Recycle today for a better tomorrow

When you refuse to reuse it’s our Earth you abuse

Don’t litter,it makes the world bitter!

Money grows on trees: recycle paper

Never refuse to reuse

You can’t change the past but you can change the future, always remember to recycle

The choice is yours: Save it or Waste it

Its easy being green: Reduce,Reuse, Recycle

Recyle your trash or trash your Earth

Everything can be recycled
