Specific Behaviors to Manage Relationships By Uswatun Khasanah

A. Giving Support (Supporting) Guidelines for leadership support Show acceptance and positive attention. Always polite and diplomatic, not arrogant and rude. Strengthen the confidence of others. Give assistance to work when needed. Willing to assist in personal issues.

Guidelines for active listening Maintain attention. Avoid excessive interpretation. Avoid judgmental responses. Try to suspend action biased and early conception. Use a return statement. Show empathy. Encourage people to give advice on handling problems. Synchronize interaction.

B. Developing Guidelines for training Identify training needs. Provide an explanation of why extra training is relevant. Build the confidence of the person. Creating a meaningful explanation. Make content of the training sequence to facilitate learning. Give the opportunity to practice with feedback. Give enough time to learning a complex skill. Check whether the training was successful. Encourage the application of those skills in the work. Encourage the provision of training by peers.

Guidelines for mentoring Show attention to every development of subordinates. Give advice on career assist. Encourage participation in training programs that are relevant. Give special opportunities for skills development. Helping people learn from experience. Promote the reputation of the person. Acting as a role model.

C. Recognizing Guidelines for granting recognition Give recognition to the contributions and successes. Acknowledge improvements in performance. Acknowledge efforts are commendable but failed. Do not confine the recognition of only the highly visible job alone. Do not restrict recognition was given to several people who excel only. Give special recognition. Give recognition just in time. Use a suitable form of recognition.

D. Rewarding Guidelines for reward Find out what exciting rewards. Identifying and measuring the relevant aspects of the performance will be rewarded. Explain how the remuneration is determined. Distribute rewards in a fair manner. Give rewards at the appropriate time.

E. Managing Conflict and Build a Team  Causes and Consequences of Conflict  Reaction to Conflict  Guidelines for integrative problem solving Building mutual trust Identify objectives and beliefs together. Identification of the specific reasons of the conflict. Consider a series of solutions that can be accepted. Try to find an optimal solution.

Guidelines for handling conflicts among others 1) Measures oriented issues: Encourage made commonly accepted definition of the problem by asking how the problem should be viewed by using personal terms indicates an error. Give factual information that is relevant to the problem or help prove it. Encourage each party showed their needs and priorities truth. F. Build Network Guidelines for building networks Use the ceremonies, meetings, and social events. Participate in a group that has the opportunity to make contacts. Do things that please others without any requirements. Show appreciation when someone does something that pleases you. Show acceptance and a positive outlook. Be a valuable trade partner. Keep in touch with members of the network.
